Announcing the GoCubes Best Ozo World Challenge
Are you the best Ozo on planet Earth? Prove it by entering the GoCubes Best Ozo World Challenge today. Two winners will be selected, one for the farthest acrobounce and one for the most stylish acrobounce. Each winner will be awarded 5,000 ICE (to keep for themselves or split amongst their friends) and have their submission uploaded to GankStars YouTube channel to live on forever in resplendent and eternal glory. Players from all regions may enter!
To enter, tweet out a link to your video displaying your best acrobounce using the hashtag #OzoChallenge. All submissions must be received on or before June 7th; no submissions will be accepted after 11:59 pm PDT on that date. Winners will be announced during the weekend of the EU Spring Championship (June 10 - 12). All submissions will be automatically considered for both the distance and style challenges provided the rules and guidelines for each challenge, described below, are met. Multiple entries are encouraged!
Before beginning your acrobounce, position Ozo in the bush directly next to the minion miner on the left side of the Halcyon Fold. Ozo’s health bar should be faded indicating that he is hidden to those that lack vision in the bush. This is the Starting Position. Videos of acrobounces that are not initiated at a time when Ozo is hidden in the bush will not be considered.
Begin your acrobounce from the Starting Position and travel directly right in a straight line toward the minion miner bush on the right side of the Halcyon Fold. While acrobounces that deviate from this path will not be penalized, the goal is to travel as far to the right of the Halcyon Fold from the Starting Position as possible. Thus, an acrobounce that does not travel directly to the right (for example, one that veers toward the top or bottom of the Halcyon Fold) is suboptimal. Don’t believe us? Consult Pythagoras.
Coordination with allies and enemies will be necessary to succeed in this challenge. Jump into a private match with your friends and see what’s possible.
Your allies and enemies are free to make use of any item or ability. Triple warhorns, boots, afterburns, suri strikes, you name it.
Unlike the videos above, please do not record your video in spectator mode. We need to see whether Ozo’s health bar is faded to determine whether you are in the correct starting position.
Entries that take advantage of glitches (e.g., Ozo attempts to acrobounce off of an enemy just as that enemy recalls to base, causing Ozo to travel all the way to the enemy fountain) are not eligible to win the Distance Challenge—though they will be considered for the Style Challenge.
No holds barred, anything goes, sky's the limit, creativitypalooza. Pull out your best trick, combination, or secret bug. Bounce anywhere on the map! Pile on gratuitous in-game effects. Make us laugh. Make us cry. Make us question, “How did they do that?!”
8 Finalists will be announced June 8th with the winner to be selected by an international panel of judges consisting of some of the best the Vainglory community has to offer:
Queen (China) - legendary shotcaller of China’s Hunters, a team that has consistently terrorized its VIPL opponents.
Mowglie (Europe) - perhaps the best Phinn on the planet, Mowglie is a playmaking roamer and shotcaller for Team Secret, Europe’s Winter Season VGL Champions.
Rumblysuperset (North America) - with 500 YouTube videos, 12 million views, and 75k subscribers, Rumbly is a staple in the Vainglory community and odds are somewhere along the line you picked up a thing or two from one of his excellent videos.
We ask that you submit your videos using the best resolution and frame rate available to you. Don’t let your hard work go to waste; capture it in the highest possible quality for future generations yet unborn.
Split the winnings among you and up to five friends (minimum of 250 ICE must go to each friend).
All players from all regions, regardless of guild, team, or competitive status, may participate in the Ozo Challenge. However, no member of GankStars is eligible to win ICE. That means you, L3oN. We’re aware of your “OzoYouDidnt” alt account and are completely Sirius about this.
