GankStars Acquires Supremacy, a Top PlayStation Overwatch Team
We've competed in two game titles so far, and we became world champions in each. Next up: Overwatch on PlayStation. Can we get a third title?
Supremacy was formed in January of this year. Soon after, they picked up Stussy - a former Vainglory pro player - as its manager. Coincidentally, Stussy used to play for Nemesis, the #1 competitor to GankStars in the early days of Vainglory. But that was then, and today the landscape is entirely different. This is why having sportsmanship and respecting your enemies is so important - one day you may end up working together!
But first let's address the elephant in the room: GankStars is no longer a mobile-only organization. Mobile is forever our home - it has tremendous potential long-term, and we have some amazing news regarding our mobile division coming in the near future. At the same time, it would be wrong, nay, unethical of us to ignore other markets. We absolutely believe that console gaming is set to explode in the near future.
Back to this team we just picked up - are they good? In a round against their main opponent, Invigorate, who was the only other undefeated team in PWL at the time, the newly minted GankStars started a round with just 1 minute left, managed to capture a point during Overtime, and then pushed the payload across the entire map without letting the overtime run out! And then, when the sides switched, they blocked their opponent from capturing the same point despite Invigorate having three times the amount of time to do it! Both teams were 6-0 when the match started, but only Supremacy remained undefeated after all was said and done.
The team reigned supreme in PWL until, unfortunately, they had to drop out due to a starter losing connection mid-match and unable to reconnect within allotted time.
Season 2 of PWL is about to start and the guys are playing in the qualifier; follow PWL at twitch.tv/pwleague and cheer them on! #GSWIN
Please give the newly-minted GankStars a warm welcome with a follow on their socials:
